Welcome, New Board Members and Officers
The regular rotation of officers on Food for Greater Elgin brings new people into leadership roles beginning July 1.
Rachel Traficanti, of Maintenance Coatings Inc and a five-year member of the Board of Directors, was elected chairperson of the Board, replacing Michael Storey; Michael will remain on the Board.
Ed Kowalski joins the board after helping to lead our highly successful virtual giving campaign in March of this year. He brings over 27 years of business experience and philanthropy work to FFGE as the new Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. Ed has fundraised for the American Cancer Society, supported Haitian Relief efforts, and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. Recently, he was a lead fundraiser for the FFGE virtual food drive. He is currently the global head of strategy, marketing, and demand generation at Sutherland Global Services. Ed and his wife, Megan, live with their two dogs in Wayne after living in Elgin for 11 years.
Adam Hogan, Vice President for Business Banking at Blackhawk Bank, assumes the role of Treasurer, replacing James Hare III who leaves us in order to help take care of James Hare IV.
Marilou Pilman, Director of Marketing at Grand Victoria Casino, continues as secretary of the Board.
Kelly Day, the Senior Director of Administration at John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc., joins the board of Food for Greater Elgin after twelve years of behind-the-scenes work to advance the partnership between JBSS and FFGE.
