Join the Change for Hunger Challenge

Hunger is a reality for too many families in our community. Every day, children and their families face uncertainty about where their next meal will come from.

But what if we engaged children in making a difference?

Change for Hunger is an annual fundraising campaign: From September through March, local schools join forces with local companies to raise money for Food for Greater Elgin, giving schools (and businesses!) a chance to orchestrate substantial change.

Each participating school or classroom challenges their students to collect enough “change” to raise at least $500. That amount is then matched by the school’s corporate partner, raising a combined total of at least $1,000
to make a “change” in the lives of local families!

You’re never too young to make a difference.
Can we count on you?

When your school or business joins the Change for Hunger Challenge, Food for Greater Elgin provides everything you need to succeed—fundraising tools, posters, collection jugs, and even a personal visit from our team. Together, we can make a significant impact in the fight against hunger.
