Food For Greater Elgin Receives $100,000 Donation from Bank of America in Honor of Employee Health Initiatives.
Elgin, IL—Bank of America awarded $100,000 to Food for Greater Elgin, a client-choice food pantry located in Elgin, IL. These funds will augment their efforts to provide food security in the greater Elgin area.
Bank of America pledged to donate $50 to Food for Greater Elgin for each of its own employees who received a flu shot, plus an additional $50 for every employee who received and recorded a coronavirus vaccine or booster shot.
“Food for Greater Elgin is a long-standing partner on the frontlines, helping individuals and families who are experiencing food insecurity access for their next meal,” said Rita S. Cook, President, Bank of America Chicago. “We’re grateful to FFGE for their partnership and dedication to address community needs for individuals and families.”
“Bank of America really stepped up their support this year,” said FFGE Executive Director Dr. Michael Montgomery. “Our pantry, like many others, is faced with exploding numbers of people who are coming to us for help. We served about 84,000 people in 2021, then 130,000 in 2022. Coupling that increased need with decreased supplies of food has put us in a real bind. This grant is a real help.”
Food for Greater Elgin (FFGE) is a client-choice food pantry located at 1553 Commerce Drive in Elgin, IL.
